…Relics Collection…
“Relics” is a photographic exploration of the “disposable” reimagined through an abstract lens. In this series, everyday plastics … often overlooked or discarded without thought … are transformed into striking compositions that highlight their textures, colors, and forms. I use movement and depth of field as tools to elevate these objects beyond their utilitarian origins, creating images that feel fluid, painterly, and unexpectedly alive. At once alluring and unsettling, the work invites viewers to confront the duality of these materials: their visual appeal and their environmental cost. Through this transformation, I hope to challenge our perception of waste, prompting deeper reflection on our consumption habits and the lasting imprint of the seemingly disposable. Plastics now touch the lives … and bodies … of nearly every living creature on the planet. From microscopic organisms to apex predators, from ocean depths to human bloodstreams, the reach of these materials is inescapable. In an ideal future, these objects might be seen not as everyday conveniences, but as artifacts of a bygone era…transformed from harmful waste into a visual record. Relics that remind us of the beauty we can find in what we choose to leave behind for the future health and beauty of our planet and all creatures that inhabit it.
