Fool's Gold
Sustainable Water-Based UV Inks on Gessoed Aluminum Panel ~ Limited Edition in Maple Float Frame. More sizes and framing options available upon request.
In the Relics series, I use the colors and shapes of single-use plastics as a palette, transforming what was made to be thrown away into something luminous. This piece, Fool’s Gold, leans into that tension…where beauty and harm exist in the same shimmer. The hope is that these works become visual reminders of a different future…where plastics are relics of the past, not agents of harm.
Fact: Spider webs have become unwitting collectors of the modern world. Studies show that some webs can contain so many microplastics that up to a tenth of their weight is made up of synthetic particles. It's a haunting marker of just how deeply plastics have infiltrated the environment…down to the finest threads spun by some of the planet’s tiniest inhabitants.
