Ember Tide

from $4,200.00

In the Relics series, I use the colors and shapes of single-use plastics as a palette in the camera, transforming what was made to be thrown away into something luminous. These works are meant as quiet markers of a different future: one in which plastics are relics of the past, not agents of harm.

Ember Tide is presented in two distinct atmospheric states: Understory and Wash. Each state emerges from the same in-camera composition, yet is completed as a final, resolved work. Each is issued as its own limited edition of ten. These are not variations, but separate works…each reflecting a different environmental condition.

Its glowing currents reflect a quiet tension: plastics carried by plants, and dispersed by fire into the air. Recent research has shown that microplastics are not only washing into waterways, but are also released during wildfires…scattered by wind across surrounding landscapes. Ember Tide holds this dual movement: materials born of fire, then carried by air and water, subtly reshaping the elements themselves.

‍ ‍Ember Tide - Understory. The most compressed state of the work, Understory holds heat beneath the surface…layered, pressurized, and quietly active.

‍ ‍ • Ember Tide - Wash. More fluid and open, Wash reflects dispersal and movement, where intensity thins and drifts after passing through..

• Sustainable Water-Based UV Inks on Gessoed Aluminum Panel with Maple Float Frame.

• More sizes and framing options may be available upon request.

Certificate of Authenticity, signed on print/numbered on verso and COA.

• Free Shipping to US. Delivery in about 2 weeks.

• 5% of our profits go to SEE International. SEE provides free sight-restoring surgeries and essential eye care to people who would otherwise not have access to these services.
